Powerranger Video!

Power ranger video!

I made this one my freshman year. Right when the Ipod video came out. I knew Heidi was going to get one for her birthday. I thought...  I know I should make a power ranger video!

I also gave her a couple power ranger episodes as well. (Heidi doesn't like power rangers haha)

Sorta became a classic project for me now. Have showed it at family reunions. Have also used it in other games.

And yes, the arm motion is the best part.

Sports Tetris! Globetrotter man

This game is awesome!

Although I didn't make it. Mark made it for a sport programming contest.

I did the globetrotter guy. There is several animations.

I also love the music in this game. I can't remember who found it.

Frog Log videos

Made some flash videos for Frog Log game help complete the game. Through my videos, we gave the game a story to follow.

This game eventually won a 10k contest and is now on the windows 7 phone.

Time manager

I was working on this one while I was working Kansas.

The idea is it would tell you how long you have been on, for example, facebook.
and so you would feel bad about yourself and do something more useful. I got the general idea done, where it knew if you were on facebook, email, or warcraft or what not.

I got my mission call and didn't end up finishing it.

Rock Paper Scissors

Very simple and complete Rock Paper Scissors.

I made this I started working with C#.

I think I was waiting for Jeremy to come back over or for something to get set up for an all night video game party.

First project thought of, and completed in less than an hour.

Computer Graphics - High school

This is a collection of high school projects I made that I still have.

Bologna People Memorial

This one was a good one.

This is the memorial video for our Bologna people.

They were created freshmen year, and ... well tossed from a tall building to their death.

After wards we had a funeral service (in which we had a baloney cake, speeches and this video was played) and then we sent their caskets to a watery grave in the near by river.

Rpg maker 95

With mark, my very first thing with "programming" was with Rpg maker 95.

I did a lot of the treasure chests, sound effects (my voice), and lose screen.

Fanta Fan Club

This one is sweet!

It may have came to be because I started buying Fanta every week.

I think I was going to use this as a way to practice art, and web tools.

Work out Powered Up!

This one was to help me and Craig (my roommate) in our exercising. It was to time us, so we didn't have to kept looking at our stopwatch.

With an input system, for "1 minute sit-ups" or what not. Then 30 seconds "rest."

Maybe with the rest, having calming music, and during the 1 minute having the computer yell at you telling you to go faster or what not.

As with our exercising... this one kind of slipped away

Bomberman!

Well this is another one, in which I got board of, or just got buzy with school.

I will have to finish this one, or redo it.

Wheres Waldo

Huh. This one seems to not have much left of it.

The idea is pretty straight forward. Finals must have come up and then I quit.

to be continued...

177 Boxing

It seems my most completed file is missing.

From the title I can only assume that I was planning to make a boxing game with my roommates.
This must have been the idea that sparked into FHE fighting.

Could be done for something though

Time keeper

I was attempting to make a clock that was super rad.

I succeded in that part. But I never did figure out how to make an alarm work right...
hmmm If I did redo that one... what would be the use? hmmmm. thinking...

Scripture Boats

This is got to be my most useful program from at least year 2007 back.

In teachers quorum at church, Bro. Jones had us memorize a bunch of different things including, DC 4, articles of faith, and even the young women's theme.

The first to memorize them all then we would win a bunch of candy.
I didn't win the main prize. But If the whole quorum got them, we got a pizza party or something rad.

This was for the Quorum.

You can listen to my voice saying them, or read them ... or both.

Shapes Video

This was something I made while learning flash.

Because its mostly art value, I can't say much about it.

Robo man

I thought this was cool.

Rat thing

Yah.. I thought this was really cool when I made it.

Vietnam War - Tunnel Rats Project

I got this idea after andy did his report with the WW2 plane thing.

I had a report on 'Tunnel Rats" in the Vietnam War.

You can move around, and a couple of the buttons set off a trap, and things.

You can actually go straight through the walls... but they didn't know that.
I played it up during the speech. (made sure I went on the right path).

They were super impressed. 100% grade. Plus no real speech prep.

WW2 Plane Project

This one is an extension of the "A Day in Space" game.

Andy had a history project due, so we changed the pictures on my other project, and added some facts about WW2.

In this one the bad guy is a Jap plane. If you blow him up, you can press z to bring him back.

He later told me that he got 100% on that history speech.
(He just had people come up and shoot down the bad plane.)

A Day in Space

When I got this far on the project, I impressed myself.

I was planning to get farther on it... might become a new project of mine.

You can move around with the arrow keys.
Spacebar is to shoot.

If you blow up the bad.. square guy, you can make him come back by clicking on the line there.

Monkey Dance!

This is rad. I think I was learning how to use flash animations, and got sick of the tutorials.

Happy birthday!

Now this thing was cool. People have birthdays everyday.

This must have been one of my first complete that actually looked pretty good.

Self explanatory to use. Just don't try people over the age of 30, as I didn't comprehend at the time that people got that old.

Easy Swimming

Made for a web design class in ...2007?

Luke got a mustache!

One of my first flash projects. Must have been 2005 or 2006.

Not sure what else to say about it. They say a picture says 1000 words. How many does a video say?

Picture Puzzle game - Dora Style

The picture puzzle game, where you shuffle the board and try to get it back together.

But with Boots! So rad.

The Mayo Game

Ok so, to most people, this game makes no sense.
(This was a movie-game for movie we were going to make... but we didn't have the budget... for the mayo)

But Brandon and I played it ton. It was super fun. hahaha.

We could call it a two player game. Both were controlled on the keyboard.

One controlled the mayo, and the other controlled the knife. There were teleports in the corners. There was a table you could go under, and a refrigerator you could in.

I leave the rest up to you...

Ninga Man!

Ninga man! I soon learned how to spell ninja.

The idea it was just like games at the arcade, where you shoot the bad guys, and don't shoot the good guys (well, you shouldn't).

I... uhh. It needed a bit more work.

I did get the mouse to change colors, from a green, red, and blue cross-hairs though.

Hmmm this could be a fun one to do, now...

Punch mark!

This must of have been my 2nd program made. (First without errors). 2005.

Basically you move the mouse over the glove... and you punch mark in the head. Take it off, and the glove gets ready to punch again.

Simple. But had some gooood replay value.

Head Bounce

Another visual basic era. 2005.

This one is like a screen saver when you open it. Fills the whole screen, and then my head bounces around the screen like the screen saver for your dvd player.

I think in one version the color of my head would change to blue some times.

Some people thought this one was one of the more impressive of my projects of the time.

Who is the fattest?

Uhhhh I can't really explain this one. hahaha.

I think this might have been for someones birthday.
I think most peoples names said, "No, hes not the fattest. No cake for you"
Some said "Yep, hes the fattest, have some cake."
I think one name said, some else like, "oh yah he is the most fat the whole world" or something and had I different picture.

Why am I posting this one? Mostly just for the memories (for me). 2005 was a funny year, and this describes it prettty well. hahahaha.
This was the summer before my freshmen year in high school, what do you expect?

Rat Attack!

Rat Attack! Well I don't know if I have a lot to say about this one.

I think I started this one, in the summer when I had a lot of free time, and rats came back to the house.

I was going big, and going to try to make a pacman style game. I had no idea what I was doing. But I did get a character to move on the screen.

Still could be compeleted, although... well why not?

Tic Tac Toe - Dora Syle

Ok so we have all played Tic Tac Toe. But only with 'X's and 'O's...
In this Tic Tac Toe, you can play with Dora and Boots!

This program has got to be my most used program by far of any of my visual basic programs. Maybe one of the top used of any of my programs. Miranda, Derek, and me played a lot of Dora and Boots Tic Tac Toe. A lot.

(In the original, there was 'X's and 'O's... but no one played that one.)

As with all of these programs, I still do have access to them. But this one especially, if you want a copy, just send me an email. Super fun.

Dice roller!

In this program, you can roll up to 6 dice at the time! And it adds it up for you!

What would you use this with, you may ask. Yahtzee? 3 games of monopoly at the same time? or even one game of monopoly where 3 people go at the same time, speeds up the game eh?

Also I added the option of "logging in." Which mostly just puts your name at the bottem of the screen. But this is time when I realized my real audience was my nephews and nieces, and started adding Dora the Explorer to my programs. If you typed in the right name, you get Dora the Explorer dice.

Do you have dice sitting around the house ready for playing board games? Probably. But do you have Dora the Explorer dice? I didn't think so.

Drag the head into the toilet game!

Yes, this is the 'Drag the head into the toilet game!'

I would call this my first 'game.' The idea is to get the head into the toilet without touching any of the walls. The wall near the end moves as well, if you hit the button.

I was unable to get full screenshots, as the control is with the mouse. When you are 'holding' the head he becomes your mouse cursor (he isn't smiling when you dragging him around).

So fun!

Christmas Math!

Christmas math is one of my first programs.

Yes.. it is what you think it is. A calculator. Everyone has a calculator. But! Does everyone have a calculator that is color coded for christmas, WITH a tree that has christmas lights that change??

I didn't think so. What are you going to do this Christmas, when you have to add up... your bills, with a non-Christmas calculator? Suffer. That's right.

Does it work?

My first attempted program in visual basic. Must have been back in 2005 or earlier.

I learned to make a button change the text, that was the 'yes'. The answer was "yay" and a smiley face.

When I was going to add the 'no', with the text of something like, "oh man!"... but by chance I made a bug for the 'no' button that crashes the program. Success!

Its here for the nostalgic effect.
